Back to the orange craziness. I substituted the Thumbprints with a recipe from BAKED's first book "New Frontiers in Baking". A quick, pumpkin bread dotted with chocolate chips - easy to make and even easier to disappear. A recipe from Gail - BAKED author Matt's mom, the pumpkin & chocolate combination in this moist loaf is a sure winner. The recipe makes two large loaves - enjoy one now and freeze the second. If this loaf gets your ghost, you can find the recipe on Elaine's blog - who was also in that crazy pumpkin-baking mood last week.
Or if you're in the mood for something cool and minty, say, in the shape of a thumbprint - be sure to visit BAKED SUNDAY MORNINGS.

Beautiful photo, Mike! Your loaf is such a pretty color and turned out much prettier than mine. I cut the recipe in half and only made one loaf, but now I wish I had made two and frozen one. The pumpkin combined with the chocolate is so delicious. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
Yum, this looks so good! Like most bloggers, I've been on a pumpkin kick lately too and am not done. This may be next on the pumpkin list!
very nice loaf! i made it last year, and remember liking it very much! love your halloween set up in your pic :)
I love pumpkin and chocolate...thanks for reminding me that I have this recipe and I need to bake it this week. Your bread is beautiful. Always love your photos.
I love pumpkin, but for whatever reason have yet to pair it with chocolate. Hmmm.... I do have a few cans of pumpkin in the pantry and some free time....
Well I do love the thematic photo set up! Its funny, so far at the office we have had breads, donuts, muffins, cakes, bundts, etc. all spiked with pumpkin and not one of them so far has also had chocolate. Seems a natural to me. Great job.
